Technical Blow Molding of Parts and Containers

Marpac Products technical blow molded containers and parts are highly custom, typically complex in shape, and/or intended for demanding applications across numerous industries. Applications are virtually limitless. Examples of technical blow molded containers range from automotive fluid reservoirs and medical feeding bottles to doublewall cases and toner cartridges. Technical blow molded parts are equally as diverse, and range from complex medical parts and specialty containers to dispensing valves and beyond.

Technical blow molding leadership since 1967
Technical blow molding leadership since 1967Marpac Products produce technical blow molded parts and containers in a state-of-the-art, ISO 9001/2000 registered facility in Kingston, NY. Here, dedicated professionals combine their talents with manufacturing expertise to offer a technical blow molding service that is second to none. The products produced at Marpac benefit from continued advances in blow molding technology—pioneering achievements that have resulted in 16 U.S. and four foreign patents, and more importantly, technical blow molded parts and containers that deliver unsurpassed performance and value for customers on a daily basis.

Engineering of blow molded parts and containers
Marpac excels at engineering and technical blow molding of custom parts and containers ranging from the most basic to the most sophisticated, including unconventional designs not previously considered for blow molding. As a result, custom-engineered parts often enhance the design as well as the performance of O.E.M. products. Blow mold tooling can generally be produced more rapidly and at lower cost than injection molds. Expertise in technical blow molding has made Marpac an affordable choice for short-run, specialized parts as well as long runs for industrial type containers and consumer products.

Engineering of blow molded parts and containersWorking from your rough concept drawing, detailed engineering drawing or prototype, Marpac engineers can collaborate with your team to design the tooling that maximizes blow molding efficiency, part performance and economy for your unique application. Modern CAD capabilities allow Marpac engineers to interface effectively with your design engineering staff.

ISO 9001/2000 quality system
The Marpac facility is certified to ISO 9001/2000 quality standards. Marpac audits for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and incorporates in-line leak detection as part of the molding process. Marpac employs proprietary Statistical Process Control (SPC) for automated monitoring of critical-to-function dimensions that identifies any potential out-of-spec condition. Corrective measures are then computer generated using a custom SPC protocol program and acted on to ensure uniform product quality. The statistical data is available to send with each shipment of quality-certified products on a JIT basis to Marpac customers.

Diversified production capabilities
Diversified production capabilities The diversity of technical blow molding equipment at the Marpac facility, and the technical know-how to maximize its performance, allow production of the most basic to the most complex parts or containers (3 ounces to 5 gallons), in the sizes shapes and materials you require. For example, precision blow molded, double-wall parts present a challenge to many suppliers, but at Marpac they are produced on advanced equipment in the hands of seasoned blow molding professionals as a matter of routine.

Marpac offers several types of blow molding machinesTo produce a broad range of products with top efficiency, Marpac offers several types of blow molding machines: accumulator head for larger parts to five pound shot sizes, reciprocating screw for mid-size parts, and continuous extrusion/shuttle for smaller parts, including automated de-flashing and punching of handleware.

Marpac also offers pressure sensitive labeling and HI-RELIEFTM embossing—a process integral to the molding process that can make labeling, screening and other decorating unnecessary—and performs a variety of secondary operations such as specialty finishing, assembling and drop-shipping.
